My Folksy shop has now been restocked with ALL the card designs I have left. A lot of these won’t or can’t be repeated in future so grab them before they’re gone.
If you’re interested in commissioning a piece, I have some slots available at the moment. Just drop me a message by following the ‘Commissions’ link to the left.
Here’s a couple of recent commission pieces –

Tattoo of the phrase “An awful lot of running to do” in Gallifreyan.
This is a bit of English to Gallifreyan transliteration that I did for a friend. I love all the crossovers that are developing between the Sherlockian and Whovian fandoms, and the adorable idea that Sherlock is a timelord (it would certainly explain a lot!). This is the classic Sherlock Holmes quote – “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth!” written in Gallifreyan text using the BlackHatGuy method. You would not believe how long this took!!!
Hr. Drosselmeyer’s Doll Redux by =phantoms-siren on deviantART
Here’s a little bit of new art for you all before I head off to the Lincoln Steampunk Asylum this weekend.
Made for the Abney Park Airship Pirates RPG project and designed to match one of Mandem’s images.
Here’s the song that inspired it-
This is the first time I’ve been able to share any of the images I made for Airship Pirates. The book itself should be out next month, so to whet your appetite here are four images linked to some of the locations from the book – the Neo-Victorian cities of Borealis, Everglade and Desolation; and the free state of Helium City.
Click here to see the full set and download them in various sizes for all your desktop needs!
Thanks as always to Abney Park, Cakebread & Walton and Mandem. Thanks also to the wonderful stock artists Mizzd-Stock, Lockstock and Magikstock for all the inspiration.
Considering this is an artist’s blog, I haven’t blogged much about art have I? Well I have several excuses, some of them are even good excuses!
So in order they are –
- I can’t actually talk about the main project I’ve been slaving over for the last 2 months.
- Portal2 came out on at the end of April and I got a bit obsessed. Plus I’m really slow at computer games.
- I’ve injured by right thumb and can’t hold a pen for long.
- There was an amazing episode of Doctor Who written by Neil Gaiman and it may have fused by brain.
- Have I mentioned Portal 2 yet?
- I’ve been working on lots of secret commissions. And this is one of them!
Young Adventurers by *phantoms-siren on deviantART
Wow, babies are surprisingly hard to draw!!
There has also been a return of the squidy fellow, I don’t know where he found the penny farthing or where he could be going in such a hurry, but I’m most curious about how that hat stays on! Really pleased this got added by the Fancysaurus and Tentacles groups on deviantart, always makes me happy when other people like my work enough to want to feature it.

Speaking of Portal 2 I made this as an experiment in pen control. Due to my hand injuries this was created mostly by holding the pen in my fist rather than with thumb and forefingers. Also used as many workpath tool tricks as I could think of. It’s based on the character of Caroline from the game. You should play it. It’s hilarious.

Similarly this was an experiment following an online tutorial.

Steampunk Valentine by =phantoms-siren on deviantART
It’s that time of year again. Why do all my Valentine’s cards turn out so creepy?
There, fixed it.
